The Human Relations Commission is sponsoring an interfaith forum titled "I Have a Question About…Judaism," to be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 16, in the Public Meeting Room of the Stuart Municipal Building, 100 E. First Street, Winston-Salem.
The forum will be an opportunity for those unacquainted with the local Jewish community to meet practicing Jews in our community and to learn about the Jewish faith and culture. The forum will address national and local concerns relating to Judaism. The forum will also include a question-and-answer session.
Panelists will be Marilyn Forman Chandler, executive director of the Greensboro Jewish Federation; Rabbi Michael Gisser, associate dean of the Jewish Studies Department at the American Hebrew Academy and associate chaplain for Jewish Life at Wake Forest University; and Rabbi Mark Strauss-Cohn, rabbi of Temple Emanuel in Winston-Salem. Guy Blynn, a member of the Human Relations Commission, will be the moderator. More information about the panelists is posted on the Human Relations Department’s web page.
