Stormwater/Erosion Control - March 7, 2014

Patrons of Salem Lake Park and Kernersville Lake Park will enjoy free and reduced boat rentals, respectively, during Forsyth Creek Week, March 15 – 22.

Winston-Salem Recreation & Parks is offering free john boat rentals at Salem Lake in support of Creek Week and its goal of encouraging residents to enjoy local waterways.

Forsyth County Parks and Recreation is offering a $1 discount off boat rentals at Kernersville Lake Park to patrons who “like” the Creek Week Facebook page.

Forsyth Creek Week offers a full week of events for all ages, designed to encourage people to enjoy and appreciate local waterways. Activities include fly fishing clinics, “creek crawls,” children’s activities, guided creek-side bird-watching excursions, a book discussion, a free film, photography contests and more. A complete schedule of activities is posted at ForsythCreekWeek.org.

Forsyth Creek Week is being organized by 16 local agencies with the support of presenting sponsor North State Environmental, a local company that specializes in stream remediation, storm water management and erosion control. Also sponsoring Creek Week are the City/County Utilities Division, HDR Inc., Forsyth County Soil and Water Conversation District, Green Resource LLC, and Hayward Industries Inc. The Great Outdoor Provision Co. is providing in-kind support.
