More than 400 volunteers are signed up to participate in the annual Great American Cleanup in Winston-Salem on Saturday, May 7, from 9 a.m. to noon. Local roadways, parks and schools will be cleaned of litter with the assistance of families, individuals, and church, civic, school and scouting groups.
The Great American Cleanup in Winston-Salem is organized by Keep Winston-Salem Beautiful and is part of the national Great American Cleanup organized by Keep America Beautiful.
This year's Great American Cleanup in Winston-Salem is sponsored by Waste Management, Lowes Foods, Krispy Kreme, Pepsi Bottling Ventures, the Winston-Salem Journal, and the Piedmont Authority for Regional Transportation.
