Four winning designs have been chosen in the contest to design a billboard promoting the 2010 census. They will be displayed one week at a time March 8 through April 4 on an electronic billboard on Business 40 westbound near the Cloverdale Avenue exit.

Kelly Bennett, the staff coordinator for the Forsyth County Complete Count Committee, said that the contest drew more than 50 entries. "We were very pleased with the response. There were so many excellent entries that we picked four winners."

The winning entries were submitted by:

Mike Baron of Kernersville, a semi-retired minister and graphic designer. His design shows a hand filling out a census form with the tag line: "Complete the form. It makes good Census!" It will be displayed March 8-14.

Stephanie Xenakis and Elias Nuñez Gomez, 12th grade students at the Career Center. Their design shows a silhouette of people under the word "America" with the letters "M" and "E in white and the tag line: "U.S. Census. Put the ME in America"! It will be displayed March 15-21.

Trevor Shelton of Pfafftown. His design used the typography from the "Back to the Future" movies with the tag line "Send it Back-- for our Future." It will be displayed March 22-28.

Mike Clodfelter of Kernersville, a freelance production artist. His design features the 2010 Census logo with the tag line: "Don’t be slack. Mail it back." It will be displayed March 29-April 4.
