The Centennial e-Shop, an online venue for purchasing commemorative items and “Centennial Bucks,” is now open at W-S100Years.com.
Centennial Bucks are gift certificates, which the city of Winston-Salem will match dollar for dollar while supplies last, that can be redeemed at participating galleries and shops only during the Blue Moon Gallery Hop on May 10.
Centennial Bucks must be purchased in $5 increments with a minimum $20 purchase (worth $40 in Centennial Bucks). No change will be given at retail locations. The supply is limited and the sale of Centennial Buck ends May 3. More information, an order form and a list of participating venues is available online.
The Centennial e-Shop is also selling centennial commemorative items, including T-shirts; a logo glass; a limited edition, hand-made, signed and numbered tile by noted potter Ron Propst; and a custom-drawn poster depicting notable Winston-Salem landmarks and businesses.
Also for sale through the e-Shop are DVDs of three documentaries produced by WSTV-13: “Chasing the Clouds,” a history of Smith Reynolds Airport; “Engine Four,” the story of North Carolina’s first integrated fire house here in Winston-Salem; and “Merger: Making the Twin City,” a new documentary premiering May 9 about the origins of Salem and Winston and the events that led up to their consolidation in 1913.
