The West Suburban Area Plan was adopted by the Winston-Salem City Council and the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners in 2012 and is in the process of being updated.  A kickoff meeting will be held in the media center at Mount Tabor High School, 342 Petree Road, beginning at 6:00 p.m. At the kickoff meeting, Planning Staff will present existing conditions for the planning area, which includes demographics, existing land use, transportation features and housing statistics, among other topics.  Staff will also solicit comments, concerns, and opportunities from citizens during the brainstorming portion of the meeting.

Everyone that lives and works in the planning area is invited to attend.  Subsequent meetings will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the Mount Tabor High School Media Center on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, January 23, 2018, and February 20, 2018.

Planning Area Boundary

The West Suburban Planning Area [pdf/1.84mb/1p] is bounded on the north by Reynolda Road, on the east by Silas Creek Parkway, on the south by US 421, and on the west by the Lewisville municipal limits and properties located near the proposed western leg of the Northern Beltway.
