2014 National Planning AwardLegacy 2030 is the comprehensive plan for Winston-Salem, Forsyth County and all its municipalities. If the plan's policies are successful, we will be able to keep our rural areas rural, provide a diversity of residential options, improve accessibility and livability, and help our community thrive in the new economy.

Legacy 2030 has twice been recognized nationally by the American Planning Association. The plan was honored with the 2014 Daniel Burnham Award for a Comprehensive Plan, and in 2013 the plan's outreach efforts earned the City-County Planning Department a National Planning Achievement Award.
