Citizens can turn in expired, unwanted, or unused prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications, no questions asked. All drop-offs will be anonymous.

Operation Medicine Drop is being sponsored by the Winston-Salem Police Department, The Northwest Piedmont Chapter of Safe Kids NC, and the Yadkin River Keepers. Operation Medicine Drop is a safe way to get rid of unwanted medications, which in turn helps prevent accidental poisonings, drug abuse, and protects water quality.

Prescription and over-the-counter drugs will be accepted. Used needles and other biohazardous material will not be accepted. For more information call the Winston-Salem Police Department’s Community Resource Unit at (336) 773-7835 or Sgt. Mark Snow (336) 414-4190;  email msnow@wspd.org.
