K-9 Lobo was the very first of a new generation of multi-purpose Police K-9s for the Winston-Salem Police Department. He was trained in Narcotics Detection, Tracking, Article Search, Building Search and Criminal Apprehension. During his service to the citizens of Winston-Salem he was successful in all of the above listed types of operations, seizing illegal narcotics and apprehending criminals for the safety and security of our community. Additionally, K-9 Lobo was assigned to the WSPD Special Enforcement Team and was recognized as one of the first dedicated SWAT K-9s in this region of North Carolina.
