The water play area at Bolton Pool will reopen this weekend following installation of new drain covers. The water play area at Kimberley Park Pool remains closed pending replacement of its drain covers.

Both water play areas were closed last weekend after the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of the pool drain covers because they were incorrectly rated to handle the flow of water through the cover.

New drain covers for the water play area at Kimberley Park are en route and will be installed as soon as they arrive, said Tim Grant, the city recreation and parks director.

Bolton, Kimberley Park, Parkland, and Polo pools will open for the summer this weekend, however, Kimberley Park, Parkland and Polo pools will have reduced hours
June 6 - 10. Happy Hill, Mineral Springs, Reynolds Park and Sprague pools will open for the summer on June 11.
