Recreation & Parks News

The fishing station at Salem Lake is scheduled to be closed for two weeks starting Monday, July 16, to replace the double-wide modular building that houses it. The station has been open to serve Salem Lake Trail users, but the lake itself remains closed for construction of a new Salem Lake Dam.

While the fishing station is being replaced, the fishing station staff will work out of the picnic shelter at Salem Lake. Snacks and drinks will be available for sale at the shelter, but the staff will not be selling bait, tackle and merchandise and will not be able to issue boat registrations and fishing licenses, which have to be filed electronically.
