Recycling is available to qualifying small businesses. Businesses that receive once-a-week hand collection of garbage qualify to participate in the Small Business Curbside Recycling Program.
Businesses (including churches, nonprofit organizations) that are ineligible for the city's program are: 1) those that use a Dumpster for garbage collection; 2) those located in the Central Business District receiving hand collection of garbage six days a week.
The following materials are collected:
- newspaper
- magazines
- telephone books
- junk mail/office paper
- chipboard
- corrugated cardboard
- glass jars and bottles
- all plastic bottles
- aluminum beverage cans
- aluminum pie tins and foil
- aerosol cans
- steel food and beverage cans
Refer to Preparing Materials. Recycling carts must be at the curb by 6 a.m. on collection day. Collection service is provided by a private contractor, Waste Management.
To request service, call 747-6970. For missed collections, call 72-EARTH (723-2784).
