Not only has Alex Ray's 4th-grade class adopted an intermittent stream behind Forest Park Elementary School, they recently decided to mark the storm drains around the school property. So, bright and early on a cool but sunny Monday morning, they left their classroom. Students took turns marking the drains, and assisting with removing the paper covers on the epoxy disks that fix the markers on or near the storm drains. Several industrious girls also picked up any litter that they found on the school grounds. These students know only too well that what's left on the ground will probably end up in the drainage area that they have committed to keeping clean. We all owe Mr. Ray's class a big thank you for helping to protect our environment.
