Active transportation refers to human-powered modes of transportation such as biking and walking. It can also include skates, skateboards, scooters, and wheelchairs.

The City of Winston-Salem is working diligently to encourage active transportation and to make itsaferfor residents to use these human-powered modes of travel, whether for recreation or transportation.
