Bicyclists of all ages and abilities are invited to enjoy car-free biking around Old Salem during Cycling Sunday on May 20. From 3 to 6 p.m., a 1.8-mile loop comprising Old Salem Road, Cemetery Street, and Salem Avenue will be closed to motor vehicles. Walkers, skateboarders, scooters, and roller-skaters are welcome, too. Helmets are required for everyone but walkers.
Participants can get a map of the Cycling Sunday route by parking and registering at
Gateway Family Practice, 390 W. Salem Ave.
Cycling Sunday is sponsored by the Winston-Salem Department of Transportation, the Forsyth County Health Department, Novant Health and the Winston-Salem Urban Area Bicycle & Pedestrian Program.
