The Winston-Salem Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is eligible for Job Access Reverse Commute (JARC) Section 5307 and Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities (Section 5310) funds authorized under the The Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act (MAP-21).
The purpose of the Job Access Reverse Commute (JARC, or Section 5307) grant program is to support the development and maintenance of transportation services designed to transport welfare recipients and eligible low-income individuals to and from jobs and activities related to their employment.
The purpose of the Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities (Section 5310) grant program purpose is to improve mobility for seniors aged 65 or older and individuals with disabilities, by removing barriers to transportation services and expanding the transportation mobility options available.
A Call for Projects for Fiscal Year 2014-2015 JARC and Enhanced Mobility for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities funds is now open. Applications are due Monday, April 6, 2015, at 5:00 p.m.
