Hawthorne Road, between Bolton and Knollwood streets, will be closed to through traffic starting Monday, Oct. 31, to repair water and sewer lines as an addition to the Ardmore utility upgrade project. Construction is expected to last at least two weeks. A detour will be posted.
Also on Monday, Ardsley Street will be closed between Lockland and Gales avenues. On Wednesday, Gaston Street will be closed between Madison and Lockland avenues. Detours will be posted.
Watson Avenue, between Gaston Street and Hawthorne Road will reopen Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 1. Sunset Drive, between Academy and Corona streets, is also scheduled to reopen Tuesday afternoon.
These closures remain in effect: Corona Street between Academy Street and Sunset Drive; Sunset Drive, between Corona and Anson streets; and Brantley Street between Hawthorne Road and Lockland Avenue.
Utilities is repairing or replacing aging water and sewer lines in the Ardmore neighborhood. The project area is bordered by Hawthorne Road and Watson Avenue to the west, Academy Street to the north, Peters Creek Parkway to the east and Hausman Street to the south.
