Harper Road Lift Station and Clemmons No. 1 Lift Station Expansion Project Details Update
The City of Winston-Salem will offer FREE loading of leaf mulch (as long as quantities last) Saturday, September 6, 13, 20, 27, 2014, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Reynolds Park Road leaf site, behind William Roscoe Anderson Jr. Recreation Center, 2450 Reynolds Park Road. You must bring a tarp or cover. All loads must be fully covered before leaving the site. No commercial vehicles will be loaded. For more information, please call (336) 727-8000.
The Utility Commission approved the FY2014-15 City /County Utility Commission Solid Waste Operations and Capital Budget. Disposal rates at the Hanes Mill Road Landfill will remain unchanged at $34 per ton. Users who receive a volume discount will see an increase of $1, paying $31 per ton. The disposal rate at the Old Salisbury Road Landfill for construction and demolition debris will be $29 per ton, a $1 increase. Those rates do not include the $2 per ton state disposal tax collected at Hanes Mill Road and Old Salisbury Road. Rates at the Overdale and Forum 52 yard-waste facilities will also increase $1, to $30 a ton. Disposal rates will increase effective July 1, 2014.
