11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Tanglewood Park, Skilpot Lake
Join us at Skilpot Lake (Shelter #3) for a simulated, hands-on "Creek Crawl" to learn about the critters that inhabit local creeks and streams. Learn how certain stream-dwellers indicate good water quality and what you and your neighbors can do to ensure the survival of these important and fascinating creatures. Wear comfortable walking shoes for a hike along Skilpot Lake to learn about watersheds and how stream quality impacts both Skilpot Lake and the Yadkin River. Bring your rubber boots along and use your newly acquired skills to explore other streams within the park (map provided). Suitable for ages 5 – adult. Led by staff and volunteers of the Tanglewood Park Nature Education.
