A commemoration will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, at Corpening Plaza to remember the victims of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. Speakers will include Mayor Allen Joines; Council Member Vivian H. Burke, the chair of the Public Safety Committee; members of the City Council; Police Chief Barry Rountree, Fire Chief Antony Farmer, Sherriff Bill Schatzman and Forsyth EMS Director Dan Ozimek. Police Officer Fleurette Gregory-Phillips will sing the national anthem.
