City transportation planners are soliciting comments on the amended Comprehensive Transportation Plan maps for the Winston-Salem Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), which includes Forsyth County and adjoining portions of Davie, Davidson and Stokes counties.
The plan was amended at the request of state transportation planners to reflect minor changes in transportation features that will ensure coordination with other Triad MPOs. The formatting of some maps also was changed.
Planners are also releasing for public comment a list of transportation funds obligated by the federal government and the state of North Carolina for projects within the MPO during the 2008 fiscal year. The MPOs Transportation Advisory Committee will meet Sept. 17 to discuss adoption of both documents. The committee will meet at 4:15 p.m. in Room 530 of the Stuart Municipal Building, 100 E. First St., Winston-Salem.
Drafts of both documents are available online at www.DOT.CityofWS.org, and at the Stuart Municipal Building, Suite 307, 100 E. First St. Winston-Salem.
Comments may be submitted through Sept. 11 by mail, fax or e-mail to:
