Stafford Village Boulevard, the mile-long connector between Peters Creek Parkway and West Clemmonsville Road, will open on Monday, April 25.

The extension gives residents in the neighborhoods along Old Salisbury Road and West Clemmonsville Road direct access to Peters Creek Parkway without having to use Clemmonsville Road. It should reduce traffic on Clemmonsville Road at Griffith Elementary School and Independence High School.

The project cost $6.8 million, including right-of-way, design, construction and improvements to the intersection of Old Salisbury and West Clemmonsville roads. The project was financed primarily with general obligation bonds. Taylor & Murphy Construction Company Inc. of Asheville was the general contractor.
