Special Olympics Forsyth County will hold its fourth annual “BBQ & Boogie” fund-raiser on Friday, Oct. 26, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts in downtown Winston-Salem.
The evening includes a barbecue chicken dinner with a side of boogie, courtesy of Fuhnetik Union. The event also includes a beer/wine bar and a silent auction, says Lisa Kiser, the coordinator for Special Olympics Forsyth County.
“Barbecue & Boogie is our means of raising awareness about Special Olympics throughout our community, and of raising funds for the athletes of Forsyth County so they can continue to compete in the sports they love,” Kiser said. “Our program is one of the largest in the state, with just over 1,500 athletes. We rely solely on contributions from the community to provide training and competitions in 14 different sports.”
Tickets are $20 for adults, and $10 for Special Olympics athletes and for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased from Lisa Kiser by phone (727-2425) or e-mail (email@example.com). Tickets may also be bought at the door or online by going to www.RhodesArtsCenter.org and clicking on Now Showing.
