The closure of Cloverdale Avenue between Miller Street and Oakwood Drive will be extended by at least a week because cold weather last week would have prevented the cement in the road base from curing properly. Once the based is laid the final asphalt surface can be applied. Officials hope to have the road reopened by Nov. 8, weather permitting.

The city is rebuilding this portion of Cloverdale Avenue to improve pedestrian safety and realign the intersections with Melrose and Magnolia streets. Details for the project are posted online. For more information, call CityLink 311.
