Youth Advisory Council to Paint “Expression Wall”

Winston-Salem youth are invited to join members of the Youth Advisory Council at Winston Square Park from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 6, as they paint an “expression wall” that will convey their thoughts about the importance of fair housing in our community.

The expression wall is the end-of-year activity that wraps up the Youth Advisory Council’s annual community service leadership project that focused on creating grant-funded “YAC Packs” of toiletries, books, and other items for homeless youth in the community.

The wall is located on the Spruce Street side of Winston Square Park, to the right on the base of the stairs that lead to a walkway over the fountain.

The Youth Advisory Council has decorated the expression wall since 2011, when it received permission to create it from the City Council and Winston-Salem Recreation and Parks. For more information about the expression wall, call CityLink at 727-8000.
