Moonlight Madness 5K & Fun Run Accepting Registrations

Online registration is now open for the 4th annual Moonlight Madness 5K & Fun Run, sponsored by the City of Winston-Salem to benefit the United Way of Forsyth County.

This year’s race will be held 8 p.m. Sept. 19 at Merschel Plaza (formerly Civic Plaza), 122 W. Fourth St. and will feature a new, certified course that runs through the Wake Forest Innovation Quarter.

This year’s pre- and post-race entertainment will feature a DJ show with glow lights and other new additions. After the race, runners can enjoy the Texas Pete Culinary Arts Festival downtown, which begins that night.

Registration is $30 through Aug. 31 and $35 Sept. 1 through Sept. 16. There will be no on-site registrations the day of the race. All runners will again receive the coveted long-sleeve, glow-in-the-dark race shirts.

Companies interested in participating in the Moonlight Madness Corporate Challenge should contact Ed McNeal at eddiejm@cityofws.org. HanesBrands won the inaugural Corporate Challenge last year and took home the Old Salem Coffee Pot trophy for the year.
