The Interchange Plan focuses on future development around the US 158 (Reidsville Road) / Northern Beltway interchange. This plan builds upon the adopted Walkertown Area Plan Update with more detailed recommendations for the proposed Old Belews Creek Activity Center area, especially as it relates to design and appearance. The recommendations of this plan will not change or affect the construction of the Northern Beltway, already underway.

  1. Progress
  2. Documents

The kickoff meeting for the interchange plan was held on January 22, 2019, where input was received from residents on how they would like the area around the beltway interchange to develop. Community input from the kickoff meeting was presented at the second meeting on Tuesday, March 12, 2019. A drop-in session was held on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, to review and comment on the complete draft interchange plan document.

Public Hearings

A public hearing was held before the City-County Planning Board on Thursday, June 13, 2019, where the plan was unanimously recommended.  The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners have scheduled a public hearing on November 14, 2019 where citizens may share their comments on the plan.  Public hearings before the Walkertown Planning Board and the Walkertown Town Council will be scheduled in early 2020.
