The Interchange Plan focuses on future development around the US 158 (Reidsville Road) / Northern Beltway interchange. This plan builds upon the adopted Walkertown Area Plan Update with more detailed recommendations for the proposed Old Belews Creek Activity Center area, especially as it relates to design and appearance. The recommendations of this plan will not change or affect the construction of the Northern Beltway, already underway.

Meetings

11/14/2019 Forsyth County Board of Commissioners Public Hearing

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners held a public hearing on the US 158/Northern Beltway Interchange Plan on November 14, 2019, and unanimously adopted the plan for portions of the planning area within unincorporated Forsyth County.

6/13/2019 City-County Planning Board Public Hearing

Four citizens spoke at the City-County Planning Board public hearing on June 13, 2019, regarding the draft US 158/Northern Beltway Interchange Plan. The draft plan was unanimously recommended by the Planning Board at this meeting.

2/13/2020 Plan Review Drop-in Meeting

Thirty people attended the final community meeting, which was held at the Walkertown High School Auditorium on Tuesday, May 7, 2019. Citizens came by to review, discuss, comment, and ask questions about the draft interchange plan that will be presented to local officials for approval.

4/9/2019 3rd Community Meeting

Twenty-five people attended the 3rd community meeting for the US 158/Northern Beltway Interchange Plan held at Walkertown High School. Citizens were given a detailed presentation of the finalized two site design concepts for the Old Belews Creek Road Activity Center developed at the 2nd meeting.

3/12//2019 2nd Community Meeting

Twenty people attended the 2nd community meeting for the interchange plan held at Walkertown High School. Participants were split into two groups to work with planning staff to develop preliminary site design concepts for the Old Belews Creek Road Activity Center located in the southeast quadrant of the US 158 (Reidsville Road)/Northern Beltway interchange.

1/22/2019 Kickoff Meeting

One-hundred twenty-five people attended the public kickoff meeting of the US 158/Northern Beltway Interchange Plan held at the Forsyth County Library—Walkertown Branch on Thursday, January 22, 2019. The kickoff meeting allowed citizens to give input on desired and undesired land uses at the Old Belews Creek Road Activity Center and what transportation and pedestrian needs are wanted. The plan area encompasses 300 acres and includes areas to the southeast and southwest of the interchange.
