Leaf Composting & Yard Waste Disposal Facilities

N.C. State Law (130A-309.10(F) 3) prohibits the disposal of yard waste (e.g, leaves, grass clippings, tree limbs, brush, etc.) in sanitary landfills. Therefore, Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilities operates two permanent yard waste drop-off and processing sites:

Both of these facilities, operated by contractor Wallace Farm, accept yard waste from the general public, private companies and City of Winston-Salem Sanitation yard waste collection crews throughout the year.
