The Silver Arts is an annual program to keep senior adults healthy, active, and involved by providing a forum for showcasing creative talents in visual, heritage, literary, and performing arts. If you like to paint, quilt, crochet, sing, or write, consider sharing your talent while you meet new people and enjoy friendly competition.

Sub-categories

HERITAGE ARTS: basket weaving, painting, crocheting, jewelry making, needlework, pottery (hand built or thrown), quilting, rug (hooked, braided or woven), stained glass, tatting, needlelace, tole/decorative painting, wood carving, wood turning, wood working. 

VISUAL ARTS: acrylics, drawing, mixed media, oil, pastel, water color, sculpture, photography (digital and film). 

LITERARY ARTS: essay, life experience, short story, poetry.

Art work will be on display at the Forsyth Central Library for the month of April. Works will be judged for medals. The public will also have an opportunity to choose their favorite pieces in each subcategory. 

PERFORMING ARTS: comedy/drama, dance, instrumental, line dance, vocals and cheerleading. Acts may be solo, small group (2-4 members), or large groups (5 or more). Performance must be limited to three minutes or less. 

Participants may enter one entry per subcategory.
