Special Olympics Overview

Special Olympics Forsyth County is a year-round sports training and competition program for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Our program is the 3rd largest Special Olympics program in the state, with more than 1,800 athletes training and competing in 15 different sports. Throughout the season, athletes grow by demonstrating courage, experiencing joy, engaging in new friendships, and enhancing their skills.

No Charge

There is no charge for athletes to train and compete in Special Olympics.

Sports Training

Special Olympics Forsyth County offers sports training in the Fall and Spring. Athletes have the opportunity to attend Special Olympics North Carolina State Games throughout the year. For updated sports schedules, please email Carlie Reed or call 336-727-2425.

If you or your athlete is 8 years or older, please download and fill out the Medical Form (PDF). If your athlete is 7 years or younger, please download and fill out the  Young Athletes Form (PDF) and return the completed form via:
