Fire and Life Safety Education

Community Risk Reduction Services

The Winston-Salem Fire Department, along with community partners, provides outreach and education in an effort to prevent or mitigate injury, death, and destruction of property to those who live in, work in, and travel through our communities.

One component of Winston-Salem Fire Department's community risk reduction plan is our Fire and Life Safety Education program. This program includes fire safety training in child care centers and schools, at community events, and to special population groups.

The Winston-Salem Fire Department, along with community partners, also provides programs and services to help reduce the risk of fire and life threatening hazards. These programs and services include the smoke alarm program, stove top fire suppression canisters, resources for educators and caregivers, and monthly child passenger seat checks.
