Family Services

The Family Services website provides comprehensive counseling services which include: pregnancy, individual, couple, stress, depression, anxiety, grief, loss, divorce, communication and crime victimization, as well as sexual assault and domestic violence counseling. Also provides adoption services and information.

Forsyth County Social Services

The Forsyth County Department of Social Services provides a complete line of services designed to assist with financial and medical needs, children and senior services, and assistance in finding work.

Hospice - Trellis & Supportive Care

The Hospice Care Center website provides bereavement support at no charge for one year following the death of a loved one. These services include both individual and group counseling, telephone contact, routine mailings, and educational workshops. Support groups are designed to bring together those who are experiencing similar loss issues, such as the death of a spouse, a parent, etc.

Statewide Automated Victim Assistance & Notification

Statewide Automated Victim Assistance and Notification (SAVAN) helps victims of crime get custody status and court information about offenders. It is a free 24-hour per day service that is available in both English and Spanish. In addition, SAVAN automatically notifies registered victims of important events, such as release of an inmate or scheduled court events.

Domestic Violence

The Domestic Violence Unit (DVU) of the Winston-Salem Police Department assists victims and their families with any issues resulting from domestic violence. The DVU can assist with information regarding obtaining a restraining order, information regarding temporary shelter, or any other concerns regarding domestic violence.
