Street Resurfacing

The City of Winston-Salem maintains 1,013.52 centerline miles (2,180.63 lane miles) of hard surface streets and 6.62 miles of dirt streets. The benchmark for city streets is that 85% of the streets have a pavement condition rating of 85 or higher. The proposed bond funding would allow for resurfacing of approximately 203 centerline miles of hard surface streets, which would bring all City streets above a pavement rating of 85.

Available resurfacing funds are applied and distributed throughout various wards to this group of streets with an overall goal of improving the commute for citizens and achieving the previously mentioned benchmark.
