REYNOLDS
PRINGLE

Corporal S. A. Reynolds and Officer L. Pringle

Officers were dispatched to a report of a Shooting and an Active Shooter. It was reported that one victim had been shot and the suspect was in the possession of multiple firearms, waiting on police to arrive.

Upon arrival Corporal S. A. Reynolds and Officer L. Pringle were directed by witnesses to the main entrance of the building. The witnesses stated the suspect had multiple weapons and had already shot an employee. To prevent the further loss of life and /or serious injury, Corporal S. A. Reynolds and Officer L. Pringle entered the building to search for the suspect, thus placing themselves in immediate danger. Upon hearing Sergeant C. S. Sloan, Corporal M. C. Holmes, Officer C. J. Faw and Officer A. N. Norman engage the suspect near the area of the same building, Officer L. Pringle and Corporal S. A. Reynolds, again placing themselves in harm’s way, moved to the sound of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they found that Sergeant C. S. Sloan had been wounded during the exchange of gunfire with the suspect and immediately began to render aid in the hot zone.

The immediate action, bravery and selflessness of these officers prevented any further loss of life or serious injury in this unfortunate incident. These officers knew the risk involved and performed in a manner that far exceeded Departmental Standards. Based on the above facts, Corporal S. A. Reynolds and Officer L. Pringle are awarded the Medal of Merit.
