Partnerships are an important component in developing affordable housing for Winston-Salem residents. Organizations like the Shalom Project work to provide in-need community members with comprehensive services, such as financial counseling and access to health care, to “break the cycle of poverty” in our community.

Shalom is working toward bringing a new affordable housing development to the Peters Creek area of the city as part of their Peters Creek Community Initiative.

The SG Atkins CDC recently partnered with the City to construct affordable, single-family homes in the Ridgewood area of Winston-Salem.

This is a strong example of a local community agency working in partnership with local government and private stakeholders to further the development of quality housing at affordable prices.
