Financial Assistance   

Forsyth County Department of Social Services administers federal and state programs that help low-income individual and families buy groceries. This includes the FNS (Food & Nutrition Services), SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and WIC (Women, Infants & Children) programs.

The amount of benefits received depends on the number of people in your home and your monthly income (after certain deductions are subtracted). Applications are taken Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Department of Social Services, 741 N. Highland Ave., Winston-Salem. Applications can also be made online at https://epass.nc.gov/. Crisis Control Ministry offers financial assistance to our neighbors in crisis. Crisis Control Ministry assists with rent, mortgage, and utility payments. In order to receive assistance, you should give Crisis Control ministry a call to conduct a phone interview on how they can assist you.
