The members of the Advisory Committee are appointed by the City Council upon the recommendation of the Mayor Pro Tempore.

Purpose / Function

The Advisory Committee is charged with the responsibility of developing a selection criteria for honorees of Outstanding Women Leaders award; select outstanding women leaders who exemplify leadership characteristics and have made significant contributions to the Winston-Salem community; plan an annual event which recognizes the selected recipients; secure sponsorship for the event; and select the venue, entertainment, and food for the event.

Authority for Creation

The Outstanding Women Leaders Program Committee was established by a resolution adopted by the City Council on April 18, 2016.
