Parks Map Opens in new windowThe Winston-Salem Recreation and Parks Department provides activities for people of all ages through recreation centers, parks, greenways, pools, historical sites, golf courses and other facilities. Included in our park system are 79 parks, 26 miles of greenways, 2 lakes, and over 3,800 acres of managed park land.  Guided by the City’s Strategic Plan, our goal is to create, manage, and maintain unique recreational park spaces where citizens can live, work, and play.

Park amenities include playgrounds, picnic shelters, tennis courts, soccer and football fields, baseball and softball diamonds, multi-purpose fields, basketball and volleyball courts, pools and splash pads.  Facilities owned and operated by the department include:

  • 47 softball fields
  • 8 swimming pools
  • 6 volleyball courts
  • 17 recreation centers
  • 3 dog parks
  • 25 basketball courts
  • 47 playgrounds
  • 51 picnic shelters
  • 1 football field
  • 10 splash pads


All parks are open from sunrise to sunset.
