[ARCHIVED] Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Holding Community Input Meeting

The Winston-Salem Public Assembly Facilities Commission will hold a community input meeting Thursday, June 16, to receive comments about the entertainment and events it should host. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the Fairgrounds Home & Garden Building, 421 27th St.

The input session is part of an effort by city officials to ensure that the events that the fairgrounds hosts, and the entertainment it offers, reflect the diversity of Winston-Salem’s population in all respects. This includes concerts, sporting events, trade shows, festivals, private events and more. Speakers will have one minute each to provide their thoughts.

In addition to the input meeting, the commission is also collecting public opinion through a short survey posted at WSFairgrounds.com/survey. A Spanish-language version is posted at WSFairgrounds.com/encuesta. The survey has only seven questions and takes about a minute to complete.

In addition to hosting the Carolina Classic Fair, concerts and sporting and community events, the fairgrounds facilities are available for rent to the public throughout the year. This includes the annex and education building, the midway, the inner fairgrounds (around the gazebo), the Home & Garden Building and the area with log structures known as Yesterday Village.
