Mayor Allen Joines released a statement today where he said he abhors the incidents of violence that occurred over the weekend. They appear to all be cases of victims knowing each other and reaction to an argument. 

We have hopes that some of our community violence reduction programs that we have put in place, such as Cure Violence, will successfully reduce such situations by providing interventions to address behavior change and anger management. Unfortunately, these isolated incidents occur without notice or ability for our police to intervene. We will continue to work hard to keep our city safe.
