Archers from throughout North Carolina will converge on the Fairgrounds Education Building on Saturday, Jan. 11, for the North Carolina 2020 USA Archery and Junior Olympic Archery Development championships. More than 100 adults and youth will compete by age groups from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Admission is $1 and parking will be $5.

Also competing will be guest archers from Virginia and South Carolina.

Competitors include several Olympic hopefuls, said George Hutcherson, the coach of the Bandits Junior Olympic Archery Development Club in Winston-Salem, which is serving as the host organization for the championships. "We have some archers coming who are the elite of the elite," Hutcherson said. "Come support North Carolina archers and cheer them on to a bright future in the sport."
