A student from each public school in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County, as well as from some private schools, will be honored Feb. 20 during the 40th annual Human Relations Student Awards Banquet.

The Human Relations Commission partners with the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools to hold the banquet, which honors students who exemplify positive human relations in their dealings with others on such issues as race, religion and cultural differences.

The speaker at this year’s banquet will be Forsyth County Sheriff Bobby Kimbrough. Entertainment will be provided by the Easton Elementary P.L.A.Y. (Piedmont Learning Academy for Youth) string players.

The banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Winston Ballroom of the Benton Convention Center, 301 W Fifth St. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the city Revenue Department, 100 E. First Street, Suite 121, or by calling the Human Relations Department at 336-734-1226. Tickets must be purchased before 5 p.m. on Feb. 17. Tickets will not be sold at the door.
