[ARCHIVED] Inspections Division Open for Business During COVID-19 Event

Dear Building Industry Partner:

Our WS/FC Inspections Division “IS” open for business. While there may be restrictions in how some of our services are performed, our goal is to maintain effective service levels and continue to offer you assistance in completing your important work. Our dedication to your success will not be diminished by the current pandemic threatening our State and Nation.

Some of our inspections types such as electric heat pump change-outs may be postponed until the Covid-19 virus pandemic has subsided. Occupied single-family residential alterations and additions will not be postponed, but the occupants should be prepared to answer specific questions about health, travel and exposure before our inspection is performed; and we all expect social distancing to be an element of our presence on-site. These precautions are being taken to help limit the spread of the Covid-19 virus. All pertinent documents needed for completing those inspections are expected to be on-site and in the area of the job where needed. Commercial Institutional, Educational, Assembly and occupied Residential Multi-Family may become appointment only inspections.

Our cooperation with each other and our willingness to communicate effectively will get us through this together. At this time we have no idea how long these restrictions may last, but we thank you for your patience and look forward to continuing to serve our City and County. Please continue to visit the Planning & Development Services webpage for updates to permitting/inspections related items at: https://www.cityofws.org/278/Planning-Development-Services.
