Fire Department Assisting in Food Distribution

The Winston-Salem Fire Department is helping Galilee Baptist Church distribute free food boxes on Thursdays in October as part of the U.S. Agriculture Department’s Coronavirus Food Assistance Program.

One hundred “farmers to families” food boxes will be distributed each week, first come, first served, at these dates and locations, from 11 a.m. until that day’s boxes are gone:

  • Oct. 8, Winston-Salem Fairgrounds, enter through Gate 9 on 27th Street.
  • Oct. 15, Rupert Bell Recreation Center, 1501 Mt. Zion Place.
  • Oct. 22, Ego Beauty Supply Store parking lot, 1232 Waughtown St.
  • Oct. 29, Carver High School, 3545 Carver School Road.

Contents of the boxes varies. The boxes may contain fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products or meat products.
