[ARCHIVED] High School Students Holding Virtual Race Relations Forum

Students from Winston-Salem/Forsyth County high schools will discuss their perspectives on race relations during the annual Student Race Relations Forum, to be held virtually Thursday, Sept. 30, at 6:30 p.m. and streamed live on the city’s YouTube channel. The students will discuss their views regarding racial attitudes, personal experiences, and the overall relevance of diversity for youth today.

Mayor Allen Joines will welcome the students, along with Robert Leak III, chairperson of the Human Relations Commission; Kerri Wiggins, vice-chairperson of the Human Relations Commission; and Tricia McManus, superintendent of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. The Youth Advisory Council is co-sponsoring the forum. Winston-Salem Youth Advisory Council Members Addison Truzy and Brooke Lackey will moderate the discussion.
