[ARCHIVED] Garbage Collections Resuming; Tuesday and Wednesday Garbage Routes To Be Collected First

City residents whose garbage collections were canceled on Tuesday and Wednesday should have their garbage carts at the curb first thing Thursday morning, Jan. 20. There will be no backyard collections due to icy conditions.

Garbage crews on Thursday will run their Tuesday collection routes. After those routes are completed, if time allows the crews will begin running Wednesday routes. Any Wednesday routes not collected Thursday will be collected on Friday. Residents with Wednesday collection should leave their carts at the curb if they are not collected on Thursday.

Sanitation officials will assess progress Thursday before announcing plans for Thursday and Friday garbage routes.

All yard waste, leaf and brush collections for this week are canceled and will resume the week of Jan. 24.

Waste Management resumed recycling collections on Wednesday. Recycling collections that were missed Monday and Tuesday gradually will be made up this week once each day’s routes are completed. Monday collections are being made up first, followed by Tuesday collections. Any recycling not collected by the end of the week will be made up next week starting Tuesday afternoon.
