Tunnel Project To Close Second Street Downtown

The block of Second Street between Church and Chestnut streets will be closed for a prolonged period starting Monday, Feb. 28, to construct an inmate tunnel between the new Forsyth County Courthouse and the Forsyth County Detention Center, and to make stormwater, water and sewer improvements needed for the new courthouse. Work is scheduled to take about six months and be completed in August. 

 Additionally, Chestnut Street remains closed to through traffic between First and Second streets for courthouse construction. For more information call CityLink 311.
